Chinese, American students join forces for sustainable development

The reality of urbanization and industrialization is leaving a mark on an important life-sustaining resource -- water -- especially in China. Penn State Lehigh Valley students raise money for a classmate to travel abroad

The Penn State Lehigh Valley campus hosted "We Are ... One World and We Are ... Penn State Lehigh Valley,” a community-service project that came out of a class assignment for HDFS 287 Intercultural Community-Building taught by Sandy Kile, instructor in communication arts and sciences. The goal was to raise a total of $500 to put toward one Penn State Lehigh Valley student attending a spring 2017 short-term study abroad program.

Eight students from Penn State Commonwealth campuses traveled to China with the CHANCE program last July to research the pollution of and restoration efforts needed to preserve the Yangtze River watershed.

全球 Expo to highlight travel opportunities for Lehigh Valley students

Penn State Lehigh Valley faculty, with the support of the Student Activity Fee, will host the second annual 全球 and Cultural Engagement Expo for students from 1 to 2 p.m. 周三,11月. 5,在135房间. Lehigh Valley campus expands spring break travel options for students

Penn State Lehigh Valley has expanded the number of spring break travel opportunities offered this year. During spring break (March 9-15), Lehigh Valley campus faculty and staff are leading more than 75 students on trips to Great Britain, 爱尔兰, 墨西哥, 和秘鲁, as well as Massachusetts and West Virginia.
